ETS

This past Thursday Lindsey and I (along with our friend Greg) went to New Orleans for the Southwestern Region's Conference of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS). We got to hang out with Heidi (a friend of mine from Davidson) and her boyfriend Justin. Heidi let us stay at her apartment while we were there so that made it a lot less expensive but also much more fun because we got to spend some time with them.

While there we ate Gumbo and some other Cajun foods (although I couldn't stomach the thought of eating raw oysters, so we decided to stay away from that delicacy). We also enjoyed seeing New Orleans. It really is a beautiful city with trees and grass everywhere. I know that sounds weird but there just isn't much nature in Dallas. Getting used to the NO LEFT TURN signs everywhere was little difficult but at least we got practice doing U-turns everywhere.

There was a debate at the conference where they brought in a man named Dominick Crossan (who denies the literal bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ) and another named N.T. Wright (who argues for the bodily resurrection of Jesus). Their discussions really challenged me to think through many of the things that I normally take for granted and gave me a fresh perspective on how to articulate my belief in the bodily resurrection of Jesus.

This week Linds is going to be working in the Admissions office full time and I'm doing some reading and preparing for school and Mexico. We hope to go to the lake this weekend to get away and spend some time together! -Brad-
