Christmas Break - Part II

So we've covered NC...now it's onto Mexico...

Here is the group we took to Mexico: (from Left to Right, Top to bottom)--Dave Holland, David Gomez (lives in Ixtapaluca), Daniel Clarke, Adam Landrum, Lindsey, and Brad. We are on top of the TelMex building in Mexico City and you can see a large part of the city in the background.

The city we were ministering in, however, was Ixtapaluca. We had an incredible time reaching out to the people in the neighborhoods and developing relationships with Rod and Myra's neighbors/friends. We did a Vacation Bible School in a neighborhood, where Rod and Myra hadn't done much outreach yet. The kids that came stayed all week, and we had a lot of moms that stayed and learned with their children!! This was really encouraging...

The children had a time where they could learn more about Christ and about what it means to be a Christian. Myra took them aside and let them know about having faith in Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again for our salvation...

We also had English Classes all week, where we taught basic conversational vocabulary. (Brad is teaching them how to do a "th" sound. It was something everyone wanted to come to, so it was a great way to make connections within the neighborhood.

We truly enjoyed continued relationships with people we had met in July, while meeting some new people and getting to know them. Please pray for the people of Mexico, and those who Rod and Myra Fry are pouring their lives into.

Little David and all his faces!!! He can keep you laughing all day!

A captivating came of "The Settlers of Catalan". . . (It's a board game that the guys enjoyed having a friendly round of competition with...)

Brad borrowed the bici-taxi...then Lindsey did too!

Lindsey and Cathy...still making faces too!

If you're interested in learning more or interested in going down to Mexico with us sometime! Let us know!!! We'll be more than happy to talk to you about it! :)

Christmas Break Update Part I

Sorry for the delay in an update. Since the last posting we have been: to North Carolina, to Mexico, to Dallas for a week-long class, back to North Carolina, and Houston. Needless to say the past few weeks have been extremely busy, but really fun.

During Christmas, we made a road trip to NC. We stopped in Alabama to visit Greta (Brad's cousin) and Bob, then in Atlanta to see Aunt Becky, Uncle Bill, and Cousins Laura and Julie. In Kings Mountain (the first time), we saw Brad's parents, all the brothers and grandparents, and it was extremely fun!

Here are some pictures of the nieces and nephews...

Carter riding his trike outside of Nana and PawPaw's house...

Nana making the BEST Christmas cookies with Erica and Ben. This will DEFINATELY be a Lindsey and Brad tradition during Christmas time...as it has been in the Bridges and Plonk family for years...make sure you stop by and grab some next Christmas :)
