Memories

Have you ever been somewhere, come home, and then months or years later thought to yourself "Man I wish I would have spent more time there, found more time to vacation, or spent more money seeing new things?" I have this thought run through my head pretty frequently. I think its because I like to dream about what could be and what could have been.

Lindsey and I were looking at some pictures tonight (see above) and found a picture of us when we were in Lisbon, Portugal way back in 2003. It was one of the move memorable days of my life because we only had 1 day there but somehow we found a way to fit in all sorts of activities, tours, and pictures. Then finally at the end of a long day, we left at around 1 am in our rental car to drive all night back to Seville, Spain. We finally arrived around 6am, went to our separate host homes, and slept for about 1.5 hours. Then we met back up at around 8am to walk together to class that morning. We were exhausted but it sure makes for a fun story to tell. There are so many more details.

The next time you go on a trip, take as much time as you can to enjoy the location and the people you are with. I would give anything to have skipped class that day and have spent another day in Lisbon, Portugal. But we are thankful nonetheless that we got that 1 day!
